Sell used laptops and computers in Lake County
Recent business, consumer, and gaming computers can still have real resale value. Send the model, specifications, condition, and a few photos and we'll quote the devices worth refurbishing. If you're replacing an office fleet, we'll also collect the remaining equipment free and document the data sanitization.
What we pay for
- Business-class laptops — ThinkPad, Latitude, EliteBook, ProBook
- Consumer laptops and desktops from major manufacturers
- Gaming laptops and desktops with recent processors and dedicated graphics
- Business desktops and small form factor computers
- Roughly five years old or newer, in working or repairable condition
- Servers, switches and rack equipment of recent generations
- Docking stations, and monitors in quantity
- Machines with failed drives or dead batteries — we expect that, and it's priced in
Quantity helps but isn't required. A single well-specified machine can still be worth quoting.
What we'll take, but not pay for
- Low-spec consumer computers and Chromebooks with little resale value
- Anything older than about eight years
- Machines with cracked frames, water damage or missing parts
- Printers, peripherals, cables and accessories
- Anything on the accepted list that isn't resellable
These still go free through the normal recycling pickup, with the same certificate. Nothing gets left behind because it wasn't worth buying.
How a buyback works
-
Send us a list
Models and rough quantities are enough to start. If you have an asset register or a spreadsheet from your IT provider, that's ideal. Photographs of the service tags work too.
-
We quote
A written offer, itemized, usually within a day or two. The quote is conditional on the machines being roughly as described — we don't quote high and then find reasons to reduce it on collection day.
-
We collect and verify
Everything is logged by serial number as it's loaded, and you sign a receipt listing exactly what left the building. If something is materially different from the description, we discuss it before anything changes.
-
Drives are sanitized
Every drive is wiped to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 Purge standards, or physically destroyed where it can't be. You get a certificate listing every device by serial number — the machines we bought and the ones we recycled.
-
You get paid
After collection and verification. Check or bank transfer, whichever suits your accounts department.
What we'll pay, honestly
We pay less than the machine would eventually fetch on eBay. That gap is the work: testing, replacing what's failed, reinstalling, photographing, listing, shipping, handling returns, and carrying the machine for however many weeks it takes to sell. We take that risk instead of you.
What you get is one collection date, one invoice, no listings to write, and no dealing with buyers. If you'd rather do it yourself and keep the difference, that's a legitimate choice and we'll still recycle whatever doesn't sell.
Why this is usually better than donating
Donated equipment often arrives somewhere with the drives still in it, and it's rarely tracked. If your organization handles patient records, financial data, or student information, that's the exposure your regulator will ask about — not what the equipment was worth.
Selling to us produces the paperwork instead: a signed receipt at collection and a certificate listing every serial number afterwards. Same room emptied, and the file that proves it was done properly.
Currently working out of a home workshop, and we say so on purpose. That's why collection is free across Lake County and why quotes come back in a day instead of a week — there's no counter staff or storefront rent priced into any of it. What you get instead is that the person who quotes the job is the person who collects it, wipes the drives, and signs the certificate.
Tell us what you want to sell
One computer or a whole office is fine. Give us the basics below and we'll reply within one business day. We may ask for photos or service-tag details before making an offer.
That didn't go through. You can also call (440) 488-5483.
Would you rather talk it through?
Call with the model and condition. If we need more detail before quoting, we'll tell you exactly what to send.
